Something Different
short and sweet
I want to brag. In short, this isn’t the typical monthly health and wellness-related educational article that I produce on my other LinkedIn account, which I perform as a massage professional.
What do I want to brag about?
I wrote a book.
A book of poems.
I am also an Indie Author.
And well, since you are a huge part of my community, I thought I would share that with you. Writing has been a lifelong hobby that has led to an Associate’s of Fine Arts degree, and then to me being a current English major. Side note: Being an English major is really writing five-paragraph essays rather than having fun exploring writing, like I was during the Associate’s portion of things.
I am also sharing this with you because you have shown interest in reading my articles here, so I thought I should show you what else I enjoy writing. Yes, keeping abreast of current health and wellness is the avenue I want to go down, but I need to have fun, let my hair down on occasion, and feel emotion. Okay, you know my hair is short, but you get the idea. :)
I decided to make my work accessible. My book is available on Amazon, and I would love for you to give me feedback on what you think. With me being published, I am building my Substack brand, and well, my web presence in a different way through Instagram. (Yes, I finally found my niche with that app.) Both addresses are @amusedandcreatively
The poems themselves are more like short stories that look like poems. I am a self-taught poet. The previously mentioned two-year degree entailed me learning how to workshop poetry and not actually learning how to write it. I adopted what I liked, and in that mimicking, I found a theme and wrote. I would love your feedback on Amazon if and when you purchase the item. And for those yoga studios, bookstores, and coffee shops that I love spending endless hours in when I am not massaging the book is also on IngramSpark for bulk purchases.
Thank you for your continuous support,
Melissa

This is awesome, I love how real this feels and how you’re letting yourself enjoy writing again. It’s cool seeing another side of you outside of the usual health content.
What kind of poems are in the book?
